Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited in Heathrow is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to perform advanced diagnostics on light commercial vehicles and vans, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialist equipment.

You will identify and repair engine, gearbox and fuel system faults, complete servicing and maintain workshop documentation. Requires Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or 5+ years experience, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician or similar with strong diagnostic skills.
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or 5+ years of time-served experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out advanced diagnostics on light commercial vehicles and vans.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
• Identify and repair engine, gearbox, turbocharger and fuel system faults.
• Carry out major component replacements and mechanical repairs.
• Complete servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Technician, LCV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Heathrow. Applicants must have strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic experience, hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or over five years' proven time-served experience is required. Commercial vehicle experience is advantageous but not essential.

Location: Heathrow, West London

Salary: £41,000 Basic | OTE: £49,000+ (Uncapped)

Bonus: Uncapped Bonus + Paid Overtime

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings at time and a half

Diagnostic Technician Role

• Carry out advanced diagnostics on light commercial vehicles and vans
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment
• Identify and repair engine, gearbox, turbocharger and fuel system faults
• Carry out major component replacements and mechanical repairs
• Complete servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer quality and safety standards
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation

Diagnostic Technician Requirements

• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Technician, LCV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic skills
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), or over five years' proven time-served experience
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities
• Commercial vehicle or light commercial vehicle experience is advantageous
• Manufacturer diagnostic accreditation is desirable but not essential
• Willingness to complete ongoing technical and manufacturer training
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK
