Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a busy main dealership in Liverpool. You will carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics, fault-finding, and electronic health checks using manufacturer tools to identify issues and complete repairs to standards.

The role requires Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and a Full UK Driving Licence; MOT tester license is desirable.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ or equivalent).
• Strong automotive diagnostic experience in a main dealership or busy workshop.
• Confident using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical data.

Responsibilities

• Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and systems to identify vehicle issues.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Support Vehicle Technicians with technical guidance and complex repairs.
• Carry out electronic vehicle health checks (EVHC) and identify additional work.
• Accurately complete diagnostic reports, job cards and repair documentation.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician, Automotive Diagnostic Technician or Vehicle Diagnostic Technician to join a busy main dealership in Liverpool. Applicants must have strong automotive diagnostic experience, hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, a Full UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. An MOT Tester Licence is desirable but not essential.

Location: Liverpool

Salary: Up to £39,000 Basic + Uncapped Bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, Saturdays on rota

• Confident using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical data
• Electrical fault-finding experience is highly desirable
• Current MOT Tester Licence is desirable but not essential
