Job summary

KPI People Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Diagnostic Technician to diagnose complex faults and perform advanced repairs to manufacturer standards. You will interpret manuals, work efficiently to meet targets, and may progress to MOT testing with DVSA-aligned qualifications.

The role offers a basic salary up to £39,000, with an uncapped bonus scheme and realistic OTE around £48,000, plus overtime and extensive Benefits Package including pension and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• Manufacturer Accredited Diagnostic Technician qualification.
• 2 years Diagnostic Technician Experience.
• Full and Clean UK Driving Licence.
• Own Tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on vehicles to manufacturer and safety standards.
• Interpret manuals, schematics and service bulletins to resolve issues.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, meeting productivity targets.
• Carry out servicing and repairs to Manufacturer Standards.
• Cambelt, Clutch, Gearbox & Engine repairs/replacements.
• Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics.
• Warranty Repairs.
• News Car PDI’s and Used Car Multi Point Checks.
• Carry out MOT Tests to DVSA standards (if qualified).

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance
• Manufacturer Accredited Diagnostic Technician qualification
• 2 years Diagnostic Technician Experience
• Full and Clean UK Driving Licence
• Own Tools

Desirable Requirements

• EV/Hybrid Accreditation
• MOT Licence (Class 4 & 7)

Salary, OTE & Working Hours

• Basic salary of £36,000 - £39,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• Uncapped OTE of £48,000
• Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
• Saturday mornings on a rota paid as overtime
