Overview

The Development Chemist will be a purpose-driven scientist who enjoys collaborative problem-solving, working at the leading edge of science, engineering, and technology. As a member of our technical team, you will be responsible for contributing to the process development of our new, safe and innovative fluorinating processes and scaling-up our technology. You will be part of a growing team of inspiring and supportive scientists and engineers working to revolutionize fluorination chemistry worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply a range of synthetic & analytical methodologies to make industrially relevant, next generation synthesis of fluorinated compounds across a range of scales (up to kg)
  • Address R&D and process challenges and develop new routes to fluorochemicals using our latest technology.
  • Design and execute experimental work in inorganic and/or organic synthesis.
Essential
  • Chemistry degree (BSc/MChem/MSc or equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant R&D experience
  • Demonstrable analytical mindset and approach to projects
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and chemistry software suites (Scifinder, Chemdraw etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills
  • Right to live and work in the UK
Desirable
  • PhD in synthetic chemistry
  • Experience in inert manipulation (e.g., Glovebox, Schlenk line)
  • Experience in the field of mechanochemistry and/or solid-state chemistry

Salary range - £33,000 - £40,000 per annum
