Job summary

Banham Poultry (2018) Limited is seeking an experienced Despatch Manager to lead its busy warehouse and despatch operations. You will ensure orders are picked, loaded and dispatched safely, accurately and on time while upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.

You will collaborate with Production, Planning and Transport, manage labour and continuously improve performance, culture, and customer service. A hands-on leader who motivates teams will fit well.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a warehouse, despatch or logistics operation.
• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or fast-paced operations.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience managing KPIs and driving improvements.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and customer service.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Despatch Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Despatch department, ensuring products are picked, loaded, and dispatched safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Transport, and other departments, you'll make sure customer orders leave site on time while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and health & safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, motivating, and developing the Despatch management and warehouse teams.
• Creating a positive culture where people feel supported, engaged, and accountable.
• Ensuring customer orders are dispatched accurately and on schedule.
• Driving operational performance, productivity, and service levels.
• Monitoring KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Managing stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Quality, GMP and Health & Safety standards.
• Working collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives.
• Managing labour planning, training, and performance.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
