Job summary

ABP UK is seeking a Despatch Operator to efficiently manage dispatch operations on the shop floor, ensuring timely processing of products and adherence to quality and safety standards.

You will work with the team to maximise efficiency, sustain cold store conditions, and maintain stock accuracy. The role includes mentoring trainees and upholding OTIF service while adapting to operational changes.

Qualifications

• Some experience in food distribution preferred.
• Good collaboration skills — team player.
• Flexible, adaptable and keen to learn.
• Basic numeracy skills and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maximise efficiency and service levels in despatch and intake operations.
• Maintain cold store requirements to preserve product quality.
• Ensure full stock accountability and OTIF customer service.
• Minimise vehicle delays and downtime to keep operations smooth.
• Check incoming products for quality and integrity; accept only compliant goods.
• Adhere to company policies and legislative requirements, promoting safe, hygienic practices.
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
• Support trainee development and mentoring of colleagues.
• Maintain attention to detail with stock control and rotation; investigate discrepancies.
• Achieve high picking accuracy to guarantee full supply to customers.
• Ensure products are sourced and handled in line with Food Safety and Brand Integrity requirements.
