Job summary

G&A Barnie Group Ltd is seeking an experienced IT Support specialist to join our in-house team in Inverness, Highland. The role focuses on providing first and second-line technical support across all IT areas, building and configuring laptops, and maintaining hardware and software across the business.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in IT support, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive, organized approach.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of IT support experience.
Ability to understand user needs and resolve issues.
Strong troubleshooting and quick learning.
Proactive, organized and able to prioritise workloads.
Friendly, personable communication.
Driving licence desirable; flexibility with hours.
Desktop support experience preferred.
Willing to commute to or relocate to Inverness.

Responsibilities

Provide first and second-line IT support across all IT areas.
Build, deploy and configure laptops for new and existing employees.
Upgrade hardware and peripherals as required.
Procure IT equipment and software licences where required.
Act as a key point of contact for technical knowledge and expertise.
Follow and adhere to processes and procedures, while checking and advising where improvements can be made.
Communicate effectively with other IT team members and provide regular updates.
Support employees and help ensure systems run smoothly by resolving issues in a timely manner.
Deal with calls, emails and in-person requests for IT support.
Escalate issues where necessary and contribute to resolving them efficiently.
