Job summary

Jobtailor in Bristol is seeking a skilled IT Desktop Specialist to manage WIMS and OSD for the Windows environment, develop standard WIM images, and design OSD task sequencing for multiple hardware platforms.

You will troubleshoot build issues, document solutions, deliver user guides, and share knowledge with 1st/2nd line teams while collaborating with suppliers on fixes and upgrades. ITIL awareness and SCCM/ADK/MDT experience are essential.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft client OS (Windows 10/11).
• Active Directory and GPOs.
• Microsoft SCCM.
• Group Policy administration.
• Extensible desktop support experience.
• Knowledge of WIMS management.
• Experience with SCCM, ADK, and MDT.
• Network infrastructure awareness.
• Ability to produce professional, articulate documents.
• ITIL awareness.
• Government vetting eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage WIMS and OSD for desktop environment.
• Develop and create a standard WIM image.
• Produce OSD task sequencing for various hardware platforms.
• Assist in testing of newly created SOEs.
• Troubleshoot SOE or build-related issues.
• Liaise with suppliers to fix faults and upgrades.
• Document technical solutions in the Service Desk knowledge base.
• Provide technical support and training to 1st and 2nd Line Analysts.
• Test and document new hardware.
• Write user documentation to support front-office hardware and software.
• Investigate new products and solutions with recommendations.
• Create group policies and administer existing ones.
• Analyze, manage, and deploy Microsoft patches to the desktop environment.
