Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Project Engineer (Design) in Wales to design electrical infrastructure up to 11kV, manage connection requests and drive renewables-led network improvements. The role offers exposure to planning, design and delivery within a busy Planning & Design team.

Based in Wrexham or Caernarfon, you will handle regulatory contracts, develop efficient designs, and collaborate with local authorities and partners to deliver value while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a network design role with 11kV design standards.
• Strong regulatory knowledge and ability to work within licences and incentives.

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory connection requests and provide quotations in line with licence requirements.
• Deliver designs within defined scope, volumes and unit costs to maximise value.
• Coordinate planning, design and ownership activities to improve network safety and longevity.
• Develop robust stakeholder and customer relationships to support delivery of strategic priorities.
