Job summary

SP Energy Networks in Scotland seeks a Project Engineer (Design) to shape the district distribution network by planning and designing electrical infrastructure up to 11kV, ensuring network security and project value around £5m.

Within the Planning & Design team, you will manage connection requests, evaluate load and generation, and develop reinforcement solutions to support renewable growth while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a network design role.
• Knowledge of design standards up to 11kV.
• Familiarity with regulatory environment and licence requirements.
• Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory aspects of connection requests and quotations.
• Deliver designs within scope, volumes and costs while ensuring network integrity.
• Develop reinforcement solutions to improve safety and longevity of infrastructure.
• Coordinate planning, design and ownership activities with internal teams and third parties.
