Job summary

Terex Corporation in Farlough, Northern Ireland, is seeking a Design Engineer to develop portable crushing and screening plants. You will produce complete manufacturing specifications, BOMs, and spares lists while addressing root causes and engineering changes for wheeled platforms.

Applicants should have 2–5 years of mechanical design experience and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Proficiency in Creo and English communication is required, with a track record of innovative problem solving.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience in mechanical design or related field.
• Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment a plus.
• Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Creo.
• General knowledge of engineering systems and standards.
• Analysis of welded steel structures and hydraulic systems.
• History of creativity and innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
• Produce full manufacturing specification packages including Engineering BOMs and replacement spares lists.
• Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process relating to wheeled platform engineering.
• Prototype development and production launch supervision.
• Follow engineering standards and associated IT systems to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.
• Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function, reliability and serviceability.
• Reduce manufacturing costs through improved design and consultation with production, purchasing and suppliers.
• Investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within the wheeled platform product line.
• Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.
• Support technical publications with procedures and images for operation and maintenance manuals and parts books.
