Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term assignment in Durham from October Half Term 2026 to July 2027. The role requires QTS or equivalent and experience teaching D&T in a UK secondary school, with strong classroom management and a passion for practical and theory-based lessons.

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an outstanding secondary school in Durham, seeking a talented and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their successful department from October Half Term 2026 until July 2027.

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a high-achieving and supportive school renowned for its excellent standards, strong leadership, and commitment to student success. The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students to develop practical skills, creativity, and confidence.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Confidence delivering both practical and theory-based lessons
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Design & Technology
• Knowledge of workshop health and safety regulations
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach to teaching
