Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term assignment in Durham from October Half Term 2026 to July 2027. The role requires QTS or equivalent and experience teaching D&T in a UK secondary school, with strong classroom management and a passion for practical and theory-based lessons.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching Design & Technology in a UK secondary school required.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills essential.
• Ability to deliver both practical and theory-based lessons with passion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Ensure practical activities are delivered safely in line with workshop health and safety requirements.
• Contribute to the wider school community.
• Support students in achieving academic and personal potential.
