Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment. The role is on-site in Derby, working to resolve incidents, fulfill service requests and ensure a responsive, high-quality support experience.

You will handle incidents and requests, provide 2nd line resolution to SLA, and coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues. You’ll also install and configure software/hardware, supporting printers, networks, and other

Qualifications

• In-depth Windows 10/11 knowledge with build/configuration/registry understanding.
• LTSC/KIOSK experience desirable.
• Basic SCCM/AD understanding and ITSM familiarity.
• LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS, VPN/remote access knowledge.
• Exchange environment, Outlook, and general email tools familiarity.
• Peripherals like printers, displays, docking stations, cameras.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Handle incident and service request tasks.
• Provide 2nd line support to resolve incidents to SLA.
• Aim for <2% incidents per month.
• Complete assigned work within timeframes.
• Support projects with internal/external PMs.
• Handle non-standard requests to agreed timescales.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues.
• Resolve hardware, networks, printers, and related tech problems.
• Install and configure software and hardware.
