Bettys Café Tearooms in Harrogate is seeking a Deputy Retail Manager on a fixed-term contract of 9 months starting January 2027. The role requires leading a retail team and delivering excellent customer service within a strong team culture.

You will work across varied shifts, including weekends, with some early mornings or evenings, and be responsible for maintaining food safety and health & safety standards while driving KPI performance.

An opportunity has arisen in our Retail team and we are looking for a Deputy Retail Manager to join us at Bettys Café Tearooms in Harrogate. This is a fixed term contract for 9 months covering a maternity leave, starting in January 2027.

Working pattern

• This  isaFull Time role working a minimum ofinsert 37.5over 5days.

• We have a variety of shift patterns with start and finish times staggered throughout the day which is dependent on the opening hours of the branch. 

• These shifts may include early mornings or evening shifts.

• You willbe requiredto work at least one day at the weekend every week.

About you

You’ll have a background of working in and organising a Retail department. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a team. You will have knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers. Ideally you will have previous experience of working to KPI’s such as labour budgets.
