Bettys & Taylors is seeking a Retail Team Leader at Harrogate to cover a maternity leave from January 2027 for nine months. You will lead a team in a fast-paced café environment, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to brand, food hygiene and health & safety standards.

The role is a full-time, 37.5‑hour week with weekend shifts. You will motivate colleagues, share product knowledge with customers, and support service excellence while maintaining high standards throughout the store.

An opportunity has arisen in our Retail team and we are looking for a Retail Team Leader to join us at Bettys Café Tearooms at Harrogate. This is a fixed term contract covering maternity leave and will start in January 2027 for 9 months. As a Retail Team Leader you will be responsible for achieving excellence in customer service, engaging and motivating a team, as well as maintaining the highest brand, food hygiene and health & safety standards, all within a fast-paced environment.

Working Pattern

• This is a Full Time role working 37.5hours over 5days, covering a maternity leave.
• The start and finish times can vary depending on opening hours of the branch, this may include some early mornings or later finishes with a normal shift length of 8.5 hours per day (no split shifts.)
• You will be required to work at least one day at the weekend every week.

About you

You’ll have a background in customer service, hospitality or retail. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a team. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers. You’ll have some knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures.
