Job summary

Banana Moon Longford is seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team. You will support the Nursery Manager, act as Room Leader in their absence, and help deliver high-quality childcare and early years education to our diverse community.

You will lead the team, ensure EYFS delivery and safeguarding standards, supervise daily operations, and promote an inclusive, nurturing environment with strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Experience in a senior childcare role (e.g., Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager).
• Strong EYFS knowledge and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and lead the setting in their absence.
• Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children.
• Lead, inspire, and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of a stimulating curriculum in line with the EYFS framework.
• Monitor staffing ratios and contribute to the effective organisation of staff rotas.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
• Maintain compliance with nursery policies, health and safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement across the nursery through staff development, training, and quality assurance initiatives.
