Job summary

Langley House Trust in Poole seeks a compassionate and proactive Deputy IAP Manager to guide residents transitioning from custody to community, ensuring safe and successful resettlement. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work across agencies while upholding the Trust's Christian ethos and values.

A relocation package of £8,000 is available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support management of offenders transitioning from custody to the community for successful resettlement.
  • Assist with well-being and supervision of Approved Premises residents and ensure license compliance.
  • Regular inspections, monitor behaviour, engage with residents with colleagues and partners.
  • Support Public Protection by ensuring adherence to licence conditions and provide Out of Hours support.
  • Model Christian values and lead with Christ-centered ethos.
  • Demonstrate Christian leadership in line with Langley House Trust's mission.

Langley has a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Deputy IAP Manager with good communication and interpersonal skills to join our newly formed team in Poole. This role is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will receive a salary of £40,179 per annum.

A relocation package of £8,000 is available to support successful candidates who need to move closer to their place of work. Please note that this payment is taxable. The package is intended to help with reasonable relocation expenses, making it easier for candidates to transition into the role and settle into their new location. Terms and conditions apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Play a crucial role in supporting the management of offenders in their transition from custody into the community, to achieve successful resettlement.
  • Assist with the well-being and supervision of Approved Premises residents, helping them to adhere to their license conditions and supporting them to keep themselves and others safe.
  • Regularly carry out inspections, monitor behaviour and positively engage with residents, working closely with colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Play a vital role in Public Protection by ensuring that residents in our care are supported to adhere to their licence conditions, and that staff on duty are supported and this includes Out of Hours Support.
  • The post holder must be a role model for Christian values and must understand and demonstrate the Christian ethos and values which are at the heart of the Trust’s work.
  • The post holder must be a Christ-centred individual who is able to put their belief in Christ into action as a leader.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Compassionate and values-driven leader with a genuine desire to support disadvantaged people, including those with experience of offending, substance misuse, or complex needs, while upholding Christian values and promoting equality and inclusion.
  • Experienced and resilient professional with a background in , criminal justice, prison, probation, or similar environments, confident in managing challenging behaviours, leading teams, and delivering positive outcomes in demanding settings.
  • Organised and proactive team player with strong communication skills, the ability to manage budgets, staff and workloads effectively, and a flexible approach to working collaboratively across agencies, adapting to change, and supporting service development.

The successful candidate will be a practicing Christian who will create an environment where people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their best work. This person will play a full part to further the organisational aims and provide strong Christian leadership to allow Langley to be a leader within the different sectors in which it operates. The postholder will always uphold the Trust’s Christian ethos and Christ like culture and therefore there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practicing and professing Christian under the Equality Act 2010.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to be happy to adapt to change and flexible in their duties. No one day will be the same so the ability to refocus frequently is important.
