Job summary

Langdale Hotel and Spa is seeking a Deputy Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper across multiple facilities with responsibility for self-catering lodges, two hotels, laundry, and public areas.

You will oversee housekeeping operations, staff scheduling, inventory, and payroll while maintaining exceptional guest experiences. On-site work with potential live-in accommodation for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar position.
• Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
• Strong communication and guest service mindset.
• Ability to manage schedules, stock, and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cleaning schedules and allocate tasks to the Housekeeping Team.
• Actively monitor and inspect standards of cleanliness.
• Assist in creating and managing staff schedules for adequate coverage.
• Train staff to required standard and provide ongoing coaching.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checklists are completed.
• Log defects or faults with maintenance and ensure follow-up actions.
• Coordinate stocks of guest and cleaning supplies.
• Manage inventory as per service level agreement.
• Assist HR on people matters.
• Manage payroll including authorising daily timesheets.
• Collaborate with Executive Housekeeping Manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Deputise in Executive Housekeeping Manager’s absence.
• Maintain positive guest relationships and resolve queries.
• Lead by example to deliver exceptional experiences.
• Uphold department standards and SOPs to improve guest experience.
• Foster learning, positivity, equity, and performance within the team.
