Job summary

DPD Group UK is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen our depot operations management team. You will lead a mixed workforce of Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers, ensuring engagement, motivation and outstanding service across core routes and deliveries.

You will set KPIs for service, cost, productivity, transport and health & safety, manage resources for ad-hoc collections, maintain accurate documentation, and report on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced operation with people management responsibilities.
• Proven ability to motivate and lead a high-performing team.
• Strong communication skills to inspire and manage staff.
• Decisive, solutions-focused with good time management.
• Proficient with Google Chrome applications and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure depot target for Core Routes is achieved.
• Ensure depot target Stops Per Route (SPR) is achieved.
• Set up all other delivery & collection routes appropriately.
• Ensure drivers scan and load vans for delivery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Organise resources to cover ad-hoc collections via drivers or couriers/agencies.
• Complete documentation and systems accurately per company and legal requirements.
• Develop KPIs for Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health & Safety.
• Achieve Depot Clear in line with depot targets.
