Job summary

DPD Maidstone is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen our depot operations management team. You will work closely with Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers, building strong relationships and keeping drivers engaged, motivated to deliver outstanding service.

You will drive depot KPIs, ensure routes are set, supervise loading, and maintain clear communication with drivers to resolve issues. A supportive benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• You will have strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team.
• Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
• Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google chrome applications
• The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data is a key requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure depot target for Core Routes is achieved.
• Ensure depot target Stops Per Route (SPR) is achieved.
• Ensure all other delivery & collection routes are set properly.
• Ensure drivers scan and load their vans for delivery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Ensure adequate resources for ad-hoc collections with drivers or couriers.
• Complete documentation and systems accurately per requirements.
• Work to set KPIs including Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health and Safety.
• Ensure Depot Clear is achieved in line with targets.
