Job summary

DPD Group in Dudley Port is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen depot operations and lead a fast-paced team of drivers and support staff. You will build strong relationships with Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers to deliver outstanding service and meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities include ensuring routes, SPR, and driver safety; maintaining resources and timely communication; and ensuring all paperwork complies with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast paced operation with people leadership responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills to inspire and manage a team.
• Decisive, proactive problem solving and time management abilities.
• Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility in a busy depot.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use browser-based tools.
• Aptitude for reporting and data analysis to drive KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Drive depot targets for Core Routes and SPR.
• Set and monitor delivery and collection routes.
• Ensure drivers scan and load vans safely and on time.
• Maintain open communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Allocate adequate resources for ad-hoc collections and couriers.
• Complete documentation in line with procedures and regulatory needs.
• Work with KPIs across Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health & Safety.
• Achieve depot clearance in line with targets.
