Responsibilities

• Carry out basic day to day operator maintenance for the depot forklift (FLT) and maintain associated records.
• Safely operate the depot FLT and the pallet truck for transporting heavy loads around the production hub.
• Prepare all signs held in stock or being returned from deployment to make them ready for re-use using the prescribed method of cleaning.
• Apply laminate wording, patches and symbols to sign plates, ensuring the layout matches the schedule or drawings.
• Ensure all required signs/traffic management equipment are loaded to exact requirements for each job.
• Direct and support temporary/zero hours/agency staff working in the production hub.
• Maintain a clean, tidy workshop environment and dispose waste products correctly.
• Load vehicles in accordance with the AA Signs Safe Operating Procedure, secure loads and avoid overloading when conducting deliveries or collections.
• Assist other areas of AA commercial businesses as appropriate and directed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Self‑motivated, self‑reliant and hardworking.
• Good flexibility, problem‑solving, time‑management and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Full UK driving licence (Category B).
• Physically fit to carry out a role that may involve heavy lifting on a daily basis.
• Willingness to work weekends and outside normal business hours to meet event industry demands.
• Basic IT skills (MS Office and role‑specific applications).
• Valid FLT licence (ideally a "bendi" licence) and experience of working with this type of machine in a warehouse environment is desirable though not essential.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
