Job summary

DPD Group Leicester is recruiting an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen our depot operations management team. You will work closely with self-employed Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers, keeping the fleet engaged, well managed and motivated to ensure outstanding service is delivered.

Key responsibilities include achieving depot targets for Core Routes and SPR, setting up routes, ensuring drivers scan and load vans safely, and maintaining open communication to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced operation with proven people management responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to inspire and lead a team.
• Decisive, proactive problem solving and time management abilities.
• Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility in a depot environment.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use Google Chrome applications.
• Ability to produce comprehensive reporting and analyze data.
• Vigilance against unscrupulous activity and prompt action when needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure depot targets for Core Routes are achieved.
• Ensure SPR (Stops Per Route) targets are achieved.
• Set up and optimise all delivery & collection routes.
• Ensure drivers scan and load their vans safely and on time.
• Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Ensure ad-hoc collections are picked up via drivers or couriers.
• Complete all relevant documentation and systems in line with requirements.
• Work to set KPIs including Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health & Safety.
• Ensure Depot Clear is achieved in line with targets.
