Job summary

DPD Group in Birmingham is recruiting an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen depot operations management. You will work closely with Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers, building strong relationships and keeping drivers engaged to ensure outstanding service.

Key responsibilities include achieving Core Routes targets, SPR targets, proper route setup, and safe scanning/loading. You will use data reporting and KPI tracking to drive performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast paced operation with proven people management and leadership.
• Strong communication skills to inspire and manage a team.
• Decisive decision-making, problem resolution and time management abilities.
• Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use Google Chrome applications.
• Ability to produce comprehensive reporting and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Ensure depot targets for Core Routes are achieved.
• Achieve Stops Per Route (SPR) targets.
• Set up delivery & collection routes effectively.
• Oversee drivers scanning/loading for delivery safely and timely.
• Maintain open communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Ensure adequate resources for ad-hoc collections via drivers or couriers.
• Complete documentation and systems in line with requirements.
• Develop KPIs for Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health & Safety.
• Achieve Depot Clear in line with targets.
