Job summary

Rehlko in Walkden (Manchester) is seeking an experienced Generator Engineer for a predominantly depot-based role on a 4 on, 4 off shift. You will service, maintain, fault-find and repair our fleet of diesel generators, preparing units for hire and ensuring reliability and safety for customers.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic software, read drawings, work with engine brands such as Volvo, Scania, Perkins or MTU, and contribute to continuous improvement while

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with diesel generators or similar mechanical and electrical plant.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, planned maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose faults and identify repairs quickly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of diesel generators ranging from smaller sets through to large multi-megawatt units.
• Maintain and repair generators returning to the Walkden depot from customer hire.
• Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise generator reliability and availability.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools, equipment and diagnostic software.
• Prepare generators, distribution equipment and associated components for customer hire.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
