Job summary

Rehlko is seeking a Shift Generator Engineer to be based at our Walkden depot near Manchester. You will service, maintain and repair diesel generators, handle fault-finding and routine inspections on a depot-based schedule.

The role offers a 4 on, 4 off pattern with occasional site work across the North West, a company van when required, and a clear path to develop hands-on expertise within a global power generation business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with diesel generators or similar mechanical/electrical plant.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and service manuals.
• Willingness to work a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern and maintain high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of diesel generators from small to large units.
• Maintain and repair generators returning to the Walkden depot from hire.
• Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and complete mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Conduct load bank testing, functional checks and performance verification.
• Prepare generators for deployment and maintain accurate service records.
