Job summary

GAP Group in Nottingham is seeking a General Manager to lead a busy depot and own its Profit Centre. You will shape strategy, drive commercial growth, and manage a high-performing team delivering service to construction and infrastructure clients.

The role combines leadership with hands-on business influence in a fast-paced, growing industry, offering clear career progression within GAP’s nationwide Plant & Tool Division.

Qualifications

• Operational management experience in construction or hire industry.
• Strong leadership to motivate a high-performing team.
• Experience managing P&L and spotting business development opportunities.
• Knowledge of Plant & Tool equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing your depot team to drive performance and exceed customer expectations.
• Managing your own Profit Centre, influencing all aspects of depot operations; from recruitment and training to purchasing equipment and supplies.
• Identifying opportunities to grow revenue with new and existing customers.
• Ensuring quality and compliance through audits and regular customer visits.
