Job summary

Gap Group Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a General Manager to lead a depot within our Plant & Tool Division. You will own the Profit Centre, shape strategy, and drive service excellence for customers across construction, utilities and infrastructure.

You will build and motivate a high-performing team, manage recruitment and purchasing, identify growth opportunities, and ensure compliance through audits and regular customer visits.

Qualifications

• Proven operational management experience within the hire or construction sector.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
• Commercial acumen with P&L exposure and growth opportunities.
• Knowledge of Plant & Tool equipment and local customer base is highly beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop depot team to drive performance and exceed customer expectations.
• Own the Profit Centre, influence all aspects of depot operations from recruitment to purchasing.
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue with new and existing customers.
• Ensure quality and compliance through audits and regular customer visits.
