Job summary

Big Mamma Group in Manchester seeks a passionate Demi Chef - Cold Section to join our kitchen. You will prepare and plate cold dishes, follow our recipes and support the Chef de Partie.

This role involves training junior staff, maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards, and thriving in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• Passion for Italian food and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Experience as a Demi Chef in a busy cold section is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and plating standards.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills; leadership where needed.
• High energy, reliability and proactive work approach.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate cold section dishes including antipasti and salads.
• Follow Big Mamma recipes and kitchen standards.
• Work closely with the Chef de Partie, supporting daily prep and service.
• Help train and support Commis and Prep Chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and health & safety standards.
• Support the kitchen during busy services with a positive, proactive attitude.

Your Mission

As part of the Big Mamma Kitchen team, your mission will be to:

• Prepare and plate cold section dishes, including antipasti and salads

• Follow Big Mamma recipes and kitchen standards

• Work closely with the Chef de Partie, supporting daily prep and service

• Help train and support Commis and Prep Chefs

• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and full compliance with health & safety standards

• Support the kitchen team during busy services with a positive, proactive attitude

About You

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

• Big smile and passion for Italian food

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef in a busy cold section

• Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine

• Excellent teamwork, leadership and communication skills

• High energy, reliability and a proactive attitude

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
