Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is recruiting for a Driver Technician Trainee in the UK. You will complete an extensive 3-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 driving licence.

After training, you will join a two-person delivery crew to install products at customers' homes, ranging from furniture to large appliances. The role emphasizes customer service, safe driving, and the ability to handle large items.

Qualifications

• Must have UK B-Category driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is required.
• Strong verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as a top priority.
• Perform daily checks and assist in loading the vehicle for deliveries, coordinating with warehouse.
• Show respect for the customer's home and handle issues to find the best solution for customers.
• Install products (e.g., wall-mount TVs, integrated appliances, hard-wired installations) quickly and clearly explain use.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform effectively.
• Comply with driving regulations and Working Time Directive to maintain safety.
