Job summary

Amazon UK operates a delivery station role in Carlisle where you will load conveyors, move pallets, and prepare items for delivery. This is a fast-paced, physical role with varying shifts, temperatures, and the need to follow clear directions.

You will receive on-the-job training and have opportunities to upskill through free training and development programmes. Scanners and handheld devices will be used to sort and prepare orders for dispatch to drivers.

Qualifications

Be 18 years or older.
Understand and follow instructions in English.
Lift up to 23 kg.
Lift up to 38 kg using the Tilt-Push-Slide technique.
Lift up to 120 kg using a sack truck.
View prompts on screens and follow direction for some tasks.
Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around.
Go up and down stairs (where applicable).
Work in an environment with varying temperatures and moving vehicles.
You may be required to handle a full range of Amazon products, including alcohol, pork, beef and other animal products.

Responsibilities

Receive and prepare packages for delivery.
Use technology like scanners and handheld devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders into delivery bags and vans.
Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
Receive truck deliveries of customer packages.
