Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting flexible delivery drivers to join the team on a temporary basis. You will be the face of Royal Mail in your community, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot, with shifts that suit the business needs and your lifestyle.

The role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail van, and a driving assessment on start. It offers varied daily work and a chance to contribute to a nationwide service that keeps communities connected.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels on your round, ensuring items reach their destination come rain or shine.
• Drive the delivery van as part of your route, completing sections on foot when required while maintaining high service standards.
• Securely deliver all items on your route, including handling election materials and certain restricted items in line with Royal Mail business standards.
