Job summary
Northrop Grumman UK is offering a 12-month Industrial Placement Software Engineer programme starting September 2027 in New Malden, London. You will gain practical software engineering experience by developing software for defence programmes and contributing from day one in a collaborative team.
You will work with Java/C++ in modern environments, participate in agile processes, and learn from experienced engineers and technical specialists.
Qualifications
- Currently working towards a relevant degree in software/tech.
- Experience with Java, C++, Python or similar languages.
- Knowledge of agile software development practices and lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software development projects within multidisciplinary teams.
- Design, develop, test and integrate software solutions.
- Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Apply Agile methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Support software integration, debugging and problem investigation.
- Contribute to technical reviews and collaborative design discussions.
- Help deliver mission-critical capabilities for UK defence customers.
