Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to join our two-year programme in London. From day one you will work on live projects, developing software that supports critical UK defence capabilities while applying Agile and DevSecOps practices.

You will gain mentorship, rotate across projects, and contribute to software that enables mission success in demanding environments. The programme starts September 2027 and includes site-based roles with flexible working options.

Qualifications

A relevant degree in software engineering or computer science.
A genuine passion for software development and computing.
Experience writing software in Java, C++, C# or similar languages.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Strong analytical skills and logical reasoning.
Ability to deliver requirements within reasonable timescales.
Potential to contribute to projects through to their conclusion.

Responsibilities

Contribute to software development projects within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Design, develop, test and integrate software solutions.
Apply Agile and DevSecOps approaches throughout the lifecycle.
Participate in technical reviews and collaborative team activities.
Learn from experienced engineers and technical specialists.
Help deliver mission-critical capabilities for UK defence customers.
