Job summary

Amey is seeking a Defence Plant Operator for a 12-month onsite role at Beacon Barracks, Stafford. The position includes becoming an active Sponsored Reserve member and completing Army Reserve training as part of the recruitment process.

You will operate Plant and MHE, maintain logs, and ensure accurate documentation while supporting both military and commercial operations in the UK. Training is provided, with opportunities for permanent progression.

Qualifications

• Experience operating plant and MHE is advantageous, training provided if eligible.
• Military reservist training offered as part of recruitment process.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an up-to-date Plant Logbook reflecting military and commercial operations.
• Manage plant and MHE qualifications, experience, and operation hours/dates.
• Operate/drive military and commercial Plant and MHE in the UK and on deployment.
• Carry out fault reporting, record keeping and documentation updates.
• Load/unload Plant and MHE on/off transporters and rail flats.
• Perform first, halt and last parade service for Plant and MHE.
• Complete related job and service documentation with signatures from the customer.
• Become an active member of the Army Reserve as a Sponsored Reserve.
