Job summary

Amey Group Services LTD is seeking a Vehicle and Military Plant Technician to service and repair modern military vehicles, plant and defence equipment. It offers extensive training and a route into varied engineering work across the defence sector.

The role welcomes experienced technicians as well as recently qualified apprentices and graduates with practical workshop experience. Army Sponsored Reservist status is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing or repairing vehicles, machinery or mobile equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic or electrical systems is beneficial and training can be provided.
• Strong fault-finding skills and safety-conscious practice.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing military vehicles, plant and material-handling equipment
• Completing planned and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Investigating breakdowns and carrying out repairs
• Replacing and rebuilding mechanical components
• Inspecting and preparing equipment for operational use
• Completing accurate electronic maintenance records
• Identifying and ordering replacement parts
• Working to strict safety, quality and engineering standards
