Job summary

Capita Fire and Rescue is recruiting a firefighter apprentice who will undergo full training over 14 weeks at the Fire Service College in Moreton‑in‑Marsh. The role supports the MoD, with no single background required beyond a resilient mindset and teamwork.

The package includes accommodation and travel and a salary aligned to the recruit scale. Applicants may enter via the Operational Firefighter Level 3 Apprenticeship, gaining hands-on protection experience while studying toward a long-term

Qualifications

• No traditional firefighting background required; mindset and resilience matter most.
• Ability to work with others and commit to keeping people safe.
• Willingness to complete academic and behavioral assessments if required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and help restore safety quickly and effectively.
• Work with a professional emergency response team in a safety-critical environment.
• Carry out fire prevention and protection activities across Defence sites.
• Support safety campaigns to protect people, equipment and infrastructure.
