Job summary

Capita is recruiting for Sponsored Reserve Firefighters to blend civilian firefighting with military service, supporting Defence in the UK and overseas. You’ll gain structured training, a paid apprenticeship route, and a chance to contribute to a critical mission within RAF teams.

The role offers a split pattern of 4 months overseas and 16 months in the UK, with a starting salary and deployment payments, along with comprehensive leave and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Be a UK or Republic of Ireland citizen, dual national, or Commonwealth citizen from birth.
• Have lived in the UK for at least 5 years (3 years may be considered).
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Meet fitness standards and pre-joining tests, with guidance provided.
• Meet medical and health standards (eyesight and general fitness).
• Be prepared for background checks and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to real incidents in high-pressure environments.
• Work with specialist equipment and RAF teams.
• Support Defence operations in the UK and overseas.
• Be part of a close-knit, professional team.
