Job summary

Babcock Clyde in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to support Fleet Engineering teams. You will help deliver planned maintenance, assist with equipment issues, and contribute to safe, efficient operations on site at HMNB Clyde.

This full-time, on-site role offers a structured 37-hour week with Monday to Thursday shifts. A Security Check (SC) clearance is required, and you will develop practical engineering skills while contributing to defence work that matters.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering support or related operational activities.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Ability to follow procedures and established processes.

Responsibilities

• Support planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Identify and rectify equipment defects and engineering issues.
• Handle, control, issue and return work equipment as required.
• Work safely under health and safety legislation and safe systems.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes and performance.
