Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative at HMNB Clyde, Helensburgh, to support Fleet Engineering teams with maintenance and operational tasks. The role is on-site, 37 hours per week, with strict adherence to safety and procedures within a defence environment.

The successful candidate will require SC clearance, work within established processes, and contribute to efficient engineering operations that support submarines, surface craft, and estate infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, maintenance, industrial, marine, defence or operational environment.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team while supporting multiple priorities.
• Experience handling equipment and performing active tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fleet Engineering teams with planned maintenance and engineering tasks.
• Help identify and rectify equipment defects and engineering issues.
• Handle, control, issue and return work equipment per procedures.
• Follow health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency and performance.
