Job summary

Strata Solicitors is seeking an experienced Defence Claims Handler to join our growing team in Blisworth. The role suits someone with insurance claims handling experience, who enjoys managing their own caseload, negotiating settlements and delivering positive outcomes for clients.

Initially, the role is full-time and office based. After completing a 3 month probation, you can work from home two days per week. Hours are 8am–6pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in claims, insurance, financial services, or similar office roles.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship building abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.
• Proactive, professional, and capable of working independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of third party motor and property damage claims from inception to settlement.
• Review claims, assess liability, and make decisions in line with procedures.
• Negotiate with third parties, insurers and legal representatives to progress claims.
• Set up new claims accurately and maintain detailed records throughout the lifecycle.
• Proactively manage claims to meet service level agreements and deliver high service standards.
