Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEND and SEMH. The role is an assignment in Hinckley with flexible relief-cover and potential extension or permanent opportunities, starting ASAP.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships, support emotional regulation, and work closely with teachers to create a safe, structured learning environment. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH in a school or specialist setting.
• Experience providing 1:1 support or working with small groups of pupils.
• Strong behaviour-management skills and the ability to respond calmly and consistently.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a structured learning environment.
• Adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs and manage challenging situations.
