Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs in a Derby school. This full-time position is a temp-to-perm role starting immediately, with hours 08:30–15:30 and a 1:1 support focus.

You should bring resilience and energy, with prior experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH. The role emphasises safeguarding, building trusting relationships, and promoting inclusive learning in a busy educational environment.

Qualifications

• Must have recent experience working with children/young people, specifically those with SEND/SEMH.
• Energetic and resilient; able to build trusting relationships.
• Full-time, temp-to-perm role starting immediately.

Responsibilities

• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students.
• Support pupils consistently whilst responding to their individual needs.
• Create a safe learning environment for pupils.
• De-escalate behaviour that challenges through the formation of trusting relationships.
• Must have passion for education.
