Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs in a specialist setting near Loughborough. This supply role starts ASAP, with potential extension for a full term or academic year.

The successful candidate will support pupils with SEND/SEMH, build trusting relationships, and work closely with teachers to create a safe, engaging classroom. A DBS check and rights to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH in school or specialist settings.
• Ability to provide 1:1 support or work with small groups.
• Strong behaviour-management skills and calm response to challenging situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and building positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 SEND support for pupils with additional needs.
• Adapt approaches to meet individual learning requirements.
• Support emotional regulation and promote engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a safe, structured environment.
• Build positive relationships to help pupils progress and feel understood.
• Respond calmly and consistently to challenging situations.
