Job summary

Thames Clippers is seeking a Mate to support daily deck and cabin operations aboard Thames Clipper vessels, under the Master’s supervision. You will ensure safety, run crew activities, and uphold service standards for passengers.

Based at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, you will perform mooring, embarkation checks, and assist with CCTV/VHF tasks while maintaining vessel housekeeping and security protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience on vessels or decks with mooring duties.
• Ability to perform bridge watchkeeping and lookout duties.
• STCW First Aid and safety training required.
• Knowledge of ISM and HSCC safety standards.
• MCA or equivalent certification (COC/OOW/RYA) required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily management of deck and cabin crews under the Master’s direction.
• Operate Thames Clipper vessels with emphasis on customer satisfaction and vessel cleanliness.
• Conduct ticket inspections at boarding to protect revenue.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and assist Master in CCTV and VHF operations.
• Perform mooring tasks and safe embarkation/disembarkation of passengers.
