Job summary

Citizens Advice Cardiff and Vale is seeking a Debt Caseworker to provide debt advice and casework face-to-face, by phone or digitally across Wales. The role focuses on client outcomes, advocacy and practical solutions within a supportive team.

The position offers a clear work-life balance with a 37-hour week, a starting salary of £28,642–£31,803, and extensive annual leave plus bank holidays. Training and progression are emphasized in a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering debt advice via face-to-face, phone or digital channels.
• Passionate about advocating for clients and negotiating with third parties to help resolve debt problems.
• Understanding of the debt process and solutions available.
• Experience in helping clients manage finances and maximise income.
• Welsh language applications are highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide debt casework covering the full range of debt advice.
• Engage with clients in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns.
• Offer support and solutions to clients in accordance with policies.
