Job summary

Derby College is seeking a Communication Support Worker to join the Deaf Access Team. You will provide sign support and notetaking to Deaf students and support learners to access college life fully.

The role emphasises independence, collaboration, and inclusivity, with responsibilities for building relationships and supporting learners through academic and social activities. Level 2 BSL and English/Maths are required.

Qualifications

• BSL Level 2 minimum and English/Maths Level 2 equivalents.
• Experience supporting Deaf learners in education preferred.
• Understanding of Equality Act 2010 and inclusive practise.

Responsibilities

• Provide sign support and notetaking to Deaf learners.
• Work independently and as part of the Deaf Access Team to support learners.
• Contribute to an inclusive, welcoming college environment and events.
