Job summary

Ramboll seeks an Environment and Consents Manager to discharge DCO requirements, manage secondary consents and maintain environmental compliance on major infrastructure projects. The role is predominantly site-based, collaborating with regulators, authorities, and delivery teams to keep works aligned with consented commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience in DCO Requirement discharge and secondary consents.
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and consenting processes.
• Experience preparing consent applications and evidence packs.
• Experience on-site with contractors, providing practical advice on DCO requirements and compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information in written outputs and stakeholder briefings.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills in a programme-driven environment.
• Degree-qualified in environmental science, management, planning, geography, engineering or related.
• Willingness to spend most of the week on site in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire or Suffolk.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of DCO requirements, secondary consents and environmental compliance for projects, ensuring all obligations are met on time.
• Develop and maintain discharge trackers, consent registers, and evidence bundles; prepare stakeholder briefings and action plans.
• Engage regulators, authorities, contractors to resolve issues and maintain programme confidence.
• Review environmental permissions and translate commitments into practical controls and checks.
• Provide on-site support to delivery teams and ensure robust close-out evidence for compliance.
• Advise on design, land, methodology and programme changes, embedding consenting requirements.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets and mentoring junior colleagues.
