About the Role:

We invite Shift Engineers who have experience working within a Critical Environment or Engineers looking to move into Critical Environments to join our talent pool for both current and future opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure site Electrical systems are operated and maintained to the required codes of practice and industry guidelines.
  2. Ensure the PPM’s for the as-built equipment is fully maintained and carried out in a high calibre and on time.
  3. Carry out day-to-day maintenance and reactive issues relating to all the electrical equipment and assets.
  4. Complete information and feedback to computer-based systems, particularly the PPM system.
  5. Carry out fault identification/rectification and escalation when required on heating, ventilation and air conditioning issues.
  6. Installation and modification of site electrical services.
  7. Maintain effective communication with the Shift Supervisor including plant status, plant isolation, issues arising, ongoing works and standards of housekeeping.
  8. Ensure any parts required are clearly and accurately stated and any difficulties encountered on engineering activities are reported to the Shift Supervisor.
  9. Maintain the highest level of housekeeping in plant areas, workshops, stores, changing/rest areas, etc.
  10. Operation and troubleshooting for the following:
    1. Building Electrical Installation (associated panels, equipment, and circuits).
    2. Emergency lighting.
    3. Lighting Control system.
    4. Building Management Systems (BMS).
    5. Fire suppression and detection systems.
    6. Air conditioning System, VAV, FCU’s and Split Systems.
    7. AHU’s, Variable speed drives.
    8. Heating system.
    9. Generators and controls.
    10. Single and three-phase motors.
    11. UPS system and associated control systems.
    12. Operation of HV systems (training and familiarisation with this system will be made available).
Skills:
  1. Previous experience in the Building Services industry.
  2. C&G qualified or equivalent in electrical services/maintenance.
  3. 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation competent.
  4. HV Approved Person.
  5. Confined Space entry trained (where required).
  6. Recognised training or apprenticeship.
  7. Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  8. Good understanding and technical competence in all building services, particularly UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration and air conditioning.
  9. Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  10. Willingness to attend on and off-site training for plant and systems as they are installed, which may require nights away from home.
  11. Reliable and conscientious.
  12. Individuals who can demonstrate commitment and technical competence but do not meet all the requirements may be considered subject to client approval.
  13. Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs & expectations.
  14. Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  15. Enthusiasm and demonstration of proactivity, diligence and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate training schemes.
  16. Integrity, honesty and punctuality are also expected.
